The Beauty of Books | Happy World Book Day

Books are like paperback joy. In this rushed world, where everyone is busier than bees, books offer you an escape. It’s funny how an inanimate object, that is so small, whisks you away into a whole new world. The odd satisfaction you get as you flip the pages, can’t be equated, or even compared, to anything else. Charles William once said, “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” and I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. The ability of authors to pen down words that can teleport you through time, to the place where the plot takes place, and as the story continues, you get the first-hand experience of the storyline, is so beautiful. It’s a pity that some people just read the words, while some become one with them!

Lately, audiobooks and eBooks have become really popular, but personally I don’t really get the feeling of reading a book when I scroll through an ebook or listen to an audiobook! Maybe, I’m just an old school or maybe not but I’m really attracted to the essence of a paperback book.

The beauty of reading books is that, unlike movies, you’re not limited to what is shown on the screen. You’re free to picturize the plot in your head, and you’re only limited by your own imagination, and as we all celebrate World Book Day, I strongly suggest you pick up a book and get lost in it!

Yours bookishly,
