Each year, I have this silly feeling that my life will, somehow, drastically change after the clock ticks twelve in the last hour of the year but everytime i step into the new year and the dust settles I realize what I have been realizing for the past 14 years of my life. My life will not automatically get better. The problems I had the previous day would still be there the next. My life isn’t a slate, I can’t wipe it clean in a seconds span, in the hope of starting over. The baggage I had the previous year will be with me the next, unless I decide to mend my ways. My mind must talk some sense into the optimistic dreamer who resides in my heart.
Just like that 2021 has come to an end too! A blink ago it was barely January, and now it’s the end of December. This year just went by so fast, it felt more like a continuation to what began in 2020. A sequel sort of thing. 2021 wasn’t the best year, but it wasn’t the worst year either. Now as I look back at it, the whole year just passed by on the sidelines. It wasn’t so prominent. All I probably did was attend school, study after school, read books and listen to one blonde singer on Spotify. I don’t even think I blogged a lot this year, the most number of articles I put out, at a maximum, this year are probably 4. I started prioritizing quality over quantity and that’s a good thing i guess!
Was it a bad year? NO. But was it the best year of my life? Most Certainly NOT! It was a decent year and that’s a good thing too I guess. Not every year can be splendid! However, I as a person, showed immense growth last year, even if do say so myself. All in all, it was a decent year for me personally. Let’s hope for better in 2022. Anyways, quoting Alex Morritt, and as cliche as it may sound, “New year—a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours.”
Before I do end this post i would like to thank everyone who read my blog and shared it, with fellow friends or family or anyone for that matter. It means the world to me, so a big thank you from my end. I’m be forevermore grateful and on that note, thank very much and a very very VERY happy new year. Wishing, who ever is reading this, nothing but the very best!
Yours Fondly,
Sameeksha
